How To Draw A Banana

In today’s tutorial, Jorz.art will show you how to draw a banana. But before we begin this artistic journey, let’s take a moment to understand the origin and meaning of this fruit. Banana, scientifically known as Musa, is a popular fruit worldwide. The origin of bananas can be found in Southeast Asia, especially in the tropics. Bananas have been grown for thousands of years. Bananas are loved for their sweet taste, bright yellow color, and unique shape. Did you know that the type of banana we eat now is a mutant, newly discovered in 1836. The original bananas usually did not taste sweet and instead of yellow, they were red or green. Bananas contain a natural chemical that can make people happy, a substance found in Prozac (the name of an antidepressant).  Take time to relax and enjoy two delicious bananas every day to make life happier. In addition, bananas also have an interesting story. Slipping on a banana peel was a life-threatening hazard in the 1900s. This even influenced American law and gave rise to a new law called the “slip and fall law.”!

How To Draw Banana

Ensure you have the following supplies ready:

Pencils: A variety of graphite pencils for sketching and shading.

Erasers: Regular erasers for precision.

Paper: High-quality paper or a sketchbook.

Reference images: Gather images of the character.

Coloring tools: use colorful crayons to bring the character to life

Step 1 – Sketching the Stem

  Banana Drawing Step

To start our banana painting, let’s draw the stem. You start by drawing an oval, like the top of the stem of a banana. Next, we will clarify the shape of the stem. Carefully draw the outline of the oval, connecting the lines together to form a smooth stem.

Step 2 – Outlining the Body

  Banana Drawing Step 2

In step two, we practice drawing the stem of the banana, drawing down from the stem and gradually making the shape thinner as you go down. Remember that you can completely adjust the length and curve of the banana to your liking. Gently bend the banana inward. Visualize the banana as if it were resting comfortably.

Step 3 –  Refining the Shape

  Banana Drawing Step 3

In the next step, based on the curves you just drew, we will add some more curves to add more realism to the shape of the banana. At the end of the banana, draw a small square. Connect this line to the body, creating a neat and clean end. You can understand that the upper end represents the banana branch and the lower end represents the nose of the banana.

Step 4 – Adding Facial Features

  Banana Drawing Step 4

Let’s bring our banana to life by drawing it expressive eyes and a friendly smile. Draw the eyes using soft curved lines, adding a curved line in the middle to form the mouth. Thicken the curve a bit to make it stand out more. Don’t forget eyebrows for Mr. Our Banana!

Step 5 –  Giving Hands

  Banana Drawing Step 5

To add a bit of fun, draw two curved lines under the banana to form the arms. These curves will create the feeling that the banana is leaning against something behind its back. Curve them toward the middle of your body, making sure they’re evenly proportioned. Thicken the tips of the hands to give them a more finished appearance. Add a small heart near the bottom of the banana to convey cuteness and love. This small detail will make your drawing more attractive. However, this heart shape is optional, so you do not need to draw a heart shape or replace it with another shape like a flower or leaf if you want.

Step 6 –  Coloring Banana

So we’ve come to the final step—coloring! Use light yellow or orange yellow to create a natural color for the banana. Start by painting the entire banana with the main color, then add details like cracks, black marks, or dents using dark brown or gray.
